In most instances, problems with our Fixed-Wireless system are caused by a breakdown of communication between the wireless radio unit and the router or, in the case of a single computer system, the network card of the computer.

This problem can usually be resolved by powering down the radio unit and the router (or single computer), then powering up the radio unit first and allowing it to go through its startup sequence (about 30 seconds), then powering up the router (or single computer).

In order to achieve a more stable link between the radio and your router, we recommend that you set your router's WAN (Wide Area Network) link to "10 MB / Half-Duplex", as this is the link setting that the radio uses. Most routers are set to "Auto-Negotiate" the WAN link setting, which sometimes causes problems when the auto-negotiation fails.

Some routers do not have the capability to manually set the WAN link settings, in which case the repowering procedure given above may be your only choice. Note that the same thing applies in the case of a computer's network card, if that is connected directly to the radio in a single system setup. Setting the network card to "10 MB / Half-Duplex" can also improve the reliability of the link with the radio.
