Setting
up Windows XP Dial-Up Networking

Click
on the Start button, then select Settings, then Control
Panel.
|
|
|
|
Click
on the "Switch to Classic View" icon.
|
|
|
|
Double-click
the "Network Connections" icon.
|
|
|
| Click
on the "Create a new connection" icon. |

|
|
Click
the Next button.
|
|
|
|
Select
the "Connect to the Internet" option and click
the Next button.
|
|
|
|
Select
the "Set up my connection manually" option and
click the Next button.
|
|
|
| Select
the "Connect using a dial-up modem" option and click
the Next button. |
|
|
|
In
the "ISP Name" field, type a name for your Dialer,
such as Montana.Net, then click the Next button.
|
|
|
|
In
the "Phone number" field, type the phone number
for whichever Montana.Net dial-up location you are going
to use, then click the Next button.
|
|
|
|
Type
your username and password into the requested fields.
Note
that your username does NOT include the "@montana.net"
portion of your email address.
Place
check marks in the first two check boxes, but leave the
third box clear.
Click
the Next button.

|
|
If
you want a shortcut to your Montana.Net dialer on your desktop,
place a checkmark in the "Add a shortcut..." check
box.
Click
the Finish button.
Your
Montana.Net dialer is now set up and ready for use.
