Setting up Windows ME Dial-Up Networking |

Click on the "Start" button, then select "Settings", followed by "Dial-Up Networking". |

Double-click on the "Make New Connection" icon. |

|
|
|
|
On the line labeled "Type a name for the computer you are dialing", type "Montana.Net", then click the "Next" button.

| Enter the Area Code and Telephone Number information as indicated, then click the "Next" button. |

Click the "Finish" button, which will return you to the Dial-Up Networking window, where you will now have an icon named "Montana.Net".

Right-click on the Montana.Net icon, then left-click on the "Properties" item on the pop-up menu. |

|
Select the "Networking" tab. Make sure the "Type of Dial-Up Server" indicates "PPP, Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows ME". Remove all checkmarks except those for "Enable software compression" and "TCP/IP". These changes should leave your window looking as shown at right. Next, click on the "TCP/IP Settings" button.

In the "TCP/IP Settings" box, select "Server assigned..." for both the "IP address" and "name server addresses" sections. When finished, the screen should look as shown at right. Click the "OK" button.

Select the "Security" tab. Enter your User Name, Password, and the Domain (montana.net) in the spaces provided. Placing a checkmark in the box labeled "Connect automatically" is optional, depending on your personal preferences. Click the "OK" button to return to the Dial-Up Networking window. |

| If you wish to have a Montana.Net dialer shortcut on your screen's Desktop, right-click on the Montana.Net icon and select "Create Shortcut" from the pop-up menu. |

|
|
|
Select "Yes" from the query box choices, and the shortcut will be created on your Desktop. Lastly, you may close the Dial-Up Networking window. |
