DSL "piggy-backs" on your phone line, so you must have an active telephone line that qualifies for DSL service in order to have a DSL account. A telephone line that has been set up to utilize DSL Internet access will also incur monthly billing charges from Qwest. DSL is available in different speeds, both "up to" and guaranteed speeds, at different prices. Not all speeds will necessarily be available at any given location. Here is what we offer:
(1) Qwest monthly billed amounts are for the DSL circuit (getting the DSL signal from the customer's telephone wall jack to the Qwest Central Office) and are applied to the customer's phone bill. The Qwest charge is in addition to our monthly charges for Internet access (getting the DSL signal from the Qwest Central Office to our equipment, and out to the Interent) via the DSL circuit. Activation of a new DSL account takes 1-3 weeks, generally only one week, depending upon whether any conditioning needs to be performed on the phone line to be used for DSL access.
